RE:                     Updated Salary Ranges for pay grades and nine (9) classifications

 

MOTION

Upon recommendation of Tiffany Jones, Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department approves the amended pay grades and salary ranges for nine (9) classifications and authorizes the Director to take such action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

 

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION

In accordance with Mayor Mary Sheffield Executive Order (No. 2026-03), DWSD will align with the City of Detroit and implement a new living wage standard for all full-time municipal employees. Effective July 6, 2026, this commitment ensures that every full-time public servant receives a minimum $21.45/hourly (annual salary of $44,616), reinforcing the city's dedication to economic dignity and fair compensation. 

 

The affected pay grades and classifications are listed below.
