RE: Resolution to Amend the 5-Year Fiscal Years 2025 to 2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget and the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget for the Sewer Disposal System to reflect the reclassification of certain Projects and receipt of funds from an external source
MOTION
Upon recommendation of Istakur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department approves the amendment to the 5-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget for Fiscal Years 2025 to 2029 and the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget for the Sewer Disposal System to reclassify certain projects and receipt of funds from an external source; and further authorizes the Director and Chief Financial Officer to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
WHEREAS The Great Lakes Water Authority (“GLWA”) assumed operation of the regional Water and Sewer systems and the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (“DWSD”) continued operation of the retail water and sewer systems on January 1, 2016 pursuant to Lease Agreements between GLWA and the City of Detroit dated June 12, 2015.
WHEREAS The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department is seeking approval to reclassify certain projects based on the timing of execution of those projects and also to receive $974,000 from an external source to fund Stormwater Projects.
WHEREAS This change will increase the Fiscal Years 2025 Budgeted amount by $974,000 from $87,528,000 to $88,502,000 and will also increase the 5-Year Budgeted total by $974,000 from $493,797,000 to $494,771,000.
WHEREAS This amendment has no other impact on the total 5-Year (FY 2025 to FY 2029) Capital Improvement Program Budget and the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget as originally approved by the Board on April 17, 2024.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT:
RESOLVED That the Detroit Board of Water Commissioners approves the attached Amended 5-Year Capital Improvement Program Budget for Fiscal Years 2025 to 2029 and the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget; and be it finally
