RE: Amendment to the By-Laws of the Board of Water Commissioners Establishing Audit Committee
Upon recommendation and opinion of Scott A. MacGriff, General Counsel, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department hereby
approves an amendment to Article IX of its by-laws to establish an Audit Committee, which will report to the Board of Water Commissioners, appoints the Finance Committee Chairperson as the Audit Committee Chairperson, and authorizes the Board secretary to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote and to notify the public.
BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
The Board desires to have a new committee to oversee the Audit function and maintain the independence of the DWSD internal audit function, and other matters handled by the DWSD internal auditor.
BUDGET IMPACT
There is no budget impact to DWSD.
