The Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department agrees to meet with legal counsel, in closed session, pursuant to Section 8(e) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act to discuss ongoing litigation to the Board of Water Commissioners, and also authorizes the Director to takes such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

MOTION:
Upon recommendation and opinion of Scott MacGriff, Chief General Counsel, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department vote to approve a meeting with legal counsel in closed session, pursuant to Section 8(e) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act to discuss an attorney client privileged memorandum and ongoing litigation in Segars v. Detroit Water & Sewerage Department, Case No.: 24-010892-CD.
JUSTIFICATION:
A meeting in closed session is requested to discuss the above-mentioned matter. Section 8(e) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act allows a public body to meet in closed session: “To consider material exempt from discussion or disclosure by state or federal statute” As a result, General Counsel requests an opportunity to meet with you in closed session regarding the above captioned case.
