MOTION
Upon recommendation of Rasul Raheem, General Counsel of the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit ("the BOWC"), the BOWC authorizes the Director to enter into an Easement Encroachment Permit with Harsha and Danelle Chandra-Sekhar, with an address of 6872 Donladson Drive, Troy, Michigan 48085 to install a 6" sanitary sewer house lead over an existing DWSD easement and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
This easement encroachment relates to the construction of a 6" sanitary sewer house lead that will cross over a Great Lakes Water Authority leased asset, a 84-inch water main within a 50-foot wide DWSD easement located on the property parcel 20-03-126-048. The proposed sanitary sewer house lead will maintain at least an 18" vertical clearance from the GLWA 84-inch water main. A certificate of liability insurance and the easement encroachment permit are attached.
JUSTIFICATION
Property owners regularly seek permits to encroach upon DWSD easements in order to develop or re-develop surrounding land. DWSD easement encroachment permits are reviewed and approved by DWSD engineers to ensure the integrity of the underlying DWSD ass...
