MOTION

Upon recommendation of Marqaicha Welch, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6008011 for Project DWS-981 with Major Contracting Group for Sewer Improvements in Hubbard Farms and North Corktown for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $8,510,000.00 and a term of two (2) years. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION

This contract provides for the in-place rehabilitation of selected sewers primarily using the procedures, methods, and equipment of the cured-in-place pipelining process, Pipe Bursting, full segment replacements, installing new manholes, repairing sewers, and point repairs by the open-cut method of excavating the damaged portion of the pipeline and replacing it with new piping.
