MOTION
Upon recommendation of Marqaicha Welch, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6007689 with EJ USA, Inc. (formally known as East Jordan) for fire hydrants conversion and breakable parts for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $5,616,746.38 and a term of 2 years. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION
The DWSD Materials Management (Warehouse) team is responsible for inventory management and stock-level replenishment, to support DWSD Maintenance & Repair Operations.
This contract ensures the ability to replenish as-needed hydrants and hydrant parts. The conversion and breakable hydrants are used throughout the City of Detroit to gain direct access to water mains.
