Title: The Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director, upon approval and execution by the wholesale water customer, to execute a 30-year water service contract with the City of Lincoln Park. RE: Proposed Water Service Contract with City of Lincoln Park

MOTION: Upon recommendation of Sue F. McCormick, Director, the Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director, upon approval and execution by the wholesale water customer, to execute a 30-year water service contract with the City of Lincoln Park. This contract will replace any and all prior water service agreements between the City of Detroit and the City of Lincoln Park, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

It is therefore requested that the Board of Water Commissioners authorize the Director to enter into this contract.

BACKGROUND

On December 2, 2013, the Lincoln Park ("Customer") City Council agreed to the terms of a new Water Service Contract with the City of Detroit. The contract is based upon the model water contract, as subsequently amended, developed in partnership with the Technical Advisory Committee.
