The Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director, upon approval and execution by the wholesale water customer, to execute a 30-year water service contract with the Charter Township of Chesterfield. RE: Proposed Water Service Contract with Charter Township of Chesterfield
MOTION: Upon recommendation of Sue F. McCormick, Director, the Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director, upon approval and execution by the wholesale water customer, to execute a 30-year water service contract with the Charter Township of Chesterfield. This contract will replace any and all prior water service agreements between the City of Detroit and the Charter Township of Chesterfield, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
It is therefore requested that the Board of Water Commissioners authorize the Director to enter into this contract.
BACKGROUND
On January 6, 2014, the Chesterfield Township ("Customer") Board agreed to the terms of a new Water Service Contract with the City of Detroit. The contract is based upon the model water contract, as subsequently amended, developed in partnership with the Technical Advisory Committee.
