RE: Contract CS-1622 Data Consulting Group - WAM Implementation Services

I. Motion:

Upon recommendation of Daniel A. Rainey, Director of Information Technology Services, the Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director to enter into Contract No.
CS-1622, Data Consulting Group - WAM Implementation Services in the amount of $1,457,855.00 and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote

II. Justification:

This contract with Data Consulting Group (DCG) is being initiated to provide the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) with specialized technical support services for the planning and implementation of the Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM) system. The duration of the contract is twelve (12) months with a value of $1,457,855.
DCG is a Detroit-based, minority owned business with extensive knowledge and experience with both DWSD and City of Detroit systems and operations, including WAM and the City of Detroit's Financial System, which is essential for this project. DCG's unique experience and expertise, coupled with the urgency around implementing this system in a timely fashion makes them the best choice for this engagement.

This item was presented and approved at the January ORCAP meeting on Thursday January 9th, 2014.
