I. Motion:

Upon recommendation of Cheryl Porter, Assistant Director of Water Supply Operations, the Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director to grant an extension of twelve (12) months in contract time with an increase of $1,325,000.00 in contract price to Contract No. CS-1396, "Comprehensive Water Audit" with Tucker, Young, Jackson, Tull, Inc. (Consultant), and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

II. Justification:

The purpose of this amendment is to provide continuity in the water loss program while a new Request for Proposals (RFP) is advertised and awarded. Stopping the leak detection survey would be detrimental to making progress in reducing real losses in the system. Therefore, this amendment will provide for the continuation of the leak survey work as well as the use of new technologies to aid in reducing the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department's (DWSD) water loss within the City of Detroit.
