RE: CS-1625 HP - WAM Integration Services

I. Motion:

Upon recommendation of Daniel A. Rainey, Director of Information Technology Services, the Board of Water Commissioners authorizes the Director to enter into Contract No. CS-1625 HP - WAM Integration Services in the amount of $1,810,000.00, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

II. Justification:

This contract with Hewitt Packard (HP) is being initiated to provide the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) with highly specialized technical support services for the planning and implementation of Tibco system integration services in support of the WAM system implementation. The duration of the contract is eighteen (18) months with a value of $1,810,000.

HP is a company with a deep history of providing specialized technical support services at DWSD and they have extensive knowledge and experience with DWSD, its core applications, including enQuesta and Service-Link, and DWSD's systems and operations. HP, specifically, has DWSD specific knowledge and expertise in the operation, maintenance and support of DWSD's Tibco environment which is essential for this project. HP's unique experience and expertise, coupled with the urgency around implementing this system in a timely fashion makes them the best choice for this engagement.
