The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) - Purchasing Division established a total fifteen (15) vendor views and received total Four (4) bids for the above referenced items. Following the review of the bids, DWSD fleet staff recommends that a contract be awarded to Jack Doheny Companies of Northville, Michigan, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, that meets specifications, in the amount of $1,384,024. 79.
JUSTIFICATION
These units are utilized to clean sewer lines and catch basins throughout the City of Detroit. Due to the emergency response nature of these vehicles, DWSD tries to keep the entire fleet of jet rodders as up-to-date as possible. Any of our operators may be required to operate any jet rodder in adverse conditions including darkness, so they must be in good working order. These vehicles will be used to replace current vehicles that are in ill-repair which are no longer cost-effective to repair. Purchasing recommends awarding the Single Purchase Order to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, to meet the specifications as required, of the bids received from RFQ #16KM659 & #16KM660 needed fund in the amount of $1,384,024. 79.
PROCUREMENT METHOD
This requirement was competitively solicited from fifteen companies in BIDSYNC on RFQs #16KM659 and 16KM660, which yielded 4 responsive, responsible bids.
This item was recommended for approval by the Finance Committee.
