The Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department recommends first, that the committee or meeting designated as “Workshop” be abolished, second, that all standing committees of DWSD Commissioners be scheduled as needed one after the other on the first Wednesday of each month between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., and third, that a new Executive Committee be established consisting of all Commissioners. The Executive Committee shall consider all matters appropriate for non-public meetings as defined by the Michigan Open Meetings Act, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

MOTION
Upon recommendation of the Ad Hoc Committee, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department recommends first, that the committee or meeting designated as “Workshop” be abolished, second, that all standing committees of DWSD Commissioners be scheduled as needed one after the other on the first Wednesday of each month between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., and third, that a new Executive Committee be established consisting of all Commissioners. The Executive Committee shall consider all matters appropriate for non-public meetings as defined by the Michigan Open Meetings Act, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
JUSTIFICATION
The ad hoc Committee on Committees made this recommendation in order to make the most efficient use of Commissioners’ time and to better keep each Commissioner fully informed of items appropriate for consideration and action.
