MOTION
Upon recommendation of Chairman Michael Einheuser the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Chair to take appropriate steps to implement salary adjustments reflective of Director Gary Brown’s periodic personnel evaluation, as was discussed in closed session.
BACKGROUND
Section 8(a) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act allows a public body to meet in closed session: “To consider . . . a periodic personnel evaluation of a public officer, employee, staff member, or individual agent, if the named person requests a closed hearing.” Director Gary A Brown requested a closed session. The Board evaluated Director Brown’s performance during several closed sessions on matters including, but not limited to, the May 26, 2017, Independent Auditor’s Report prepared by Plante Moran, the Director’s monthly metrics, and other factors.
BUDGET IMPACT
The expenses associated with the action are within levels and programs authorized as a part of the DWSD’s budget.
