MOTION
Upon recommendation of Debra Pospiech, General Counsel/Chief Administrative Officer, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to grant an increase of $210,000.00 in the contract price and a time extension of One (1) Year for Contract No. CS-1852, Amendment No. 1 "Minimizing Lead in Drinking Water Program" with Safewater Engineering LLC (Consultant), and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

JUSTIFICATION
In June 2017, DWSD contracted with Safe Engineering to develop and implement DWSD's Minimizing Lead in Water Program. To continue assisting DWSD with refining and implementing a proactive strategy for addressing and minimizing lead in drinking water that can serve as a national model for protecting public health. This scope of work includes ongoing oversight, implementation, and refinement of full lead service line replacement (FLSLR) standard operating procedures (SOPs).
