MOTION
Upon recommendation of Thomas Naughton, Chief Financial Officer, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director Contract # 6001541, with Mueller Systems LLC, for the blanket purchase of 5/8" through 1" positive displacement (PD) cold water meters (Group A) for the Detroit Water & Sewerage Department (DWSD) for a period of four years at a cost not to exceed $1,206,625.00 and authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
In FY 2016-17, DWSD Meter Operations division replaced 11,000 cold water meters of various sizes, to provide customers with the most accurate and efficient, water usage, meter reading for their respective service application. Each make and model, based on meter size, facility and service type, may have qualities that fit certain service applications.
