MOTION
Upon recommendation of Thomas Naughton, Chief Financial Officer, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department, approves the appointment of Istakur Rahman, CPA, to the position of Internal Audit Manager, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
In August, the Department conducted a search for a qualified candidate for the position of Internal Audit Manager. Approved Board of Water Commissioners' policy stipulates the following minimum qualifications for the position:
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university, preferably in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; master's degree preferred
* Minimum of ten years of experience in a managerial role in the public or private sector involving internal auditing, financial auditing, and/or operations
* Hold a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor or Certified Information Systems Auditor certification
* Knowledge of DWSD software applications, including Oracle Fusion, enQuesta (utility billing) and/or UltiPro, a plus
* Proficient in Microsoft Word applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
