Personal Services Contract for Preventative Maintenance Time Study with

Kenneth Gripper

MOTION

Upon recommendation of Mamata Burgi, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department, authorizes the Director to approve Amendment No. 5 to PS-1801 for a personal services contract with Kenneth Gripper, adding $30,000 in additional funding for a total amended not-to-exceed amount of $118,680 and adding 1 year to the term of the contract, and also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.

BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION

DWSD is conducting a vehicle repair and maintenance time study on its vehicles. The study includes all vehicle classes, light to heavy duty.  Maintenance criteria and Maintenance Class Codes (MCC) are established in conjunction with the time study in order to create automotive fleet technician work standards. All completed studies are reviewed and approved by the Fleet Manager and entered into the Water Fleet software program.

This amendment will allow Kenneth Gripper to continue providing these services to DWSD.

PROCUREMENT METHOD

The original personal services contract award to Kenneth Gripper was approved by the DWSD Director on 5/6/16.
