RE:                     Rescission of Payout of Unused Paid Time Off Policy-approved on

MOTION

 

Upon recommendation of Debra N. Pospiech, Chief Administrative Officer/General Counsel, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department hereby rescinds the Payout of Unused Paid Time Off Policy; and authorizes the Director to take such action as may be necessary to effectuate rescission.

 

BACKGROUND

 

This Honorable Body approved a policy entitled Payout of Unused Paid Time Off at a special session on November 12, 2019.  This policy followed a (former) City of Detroit policy.  We recently learned the City no longer engages in the practice of paying out unused paid time off and has not configured the payroll system for this use; thus, rescission of the DWSD policy is necessary.
