MOTION
Upon recommendation of Mamata Burgi, Operations Resource Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6004044 for various gate box parts, with T&N Services, Inc. for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $767,433.28 and a term of two (2) years. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION
The DWSD warehouses secure, store and issue parts from inventory, including various replacement parts for gate boxes by the Maintenance & Repair Division throughout the City of Detroit. Gate boxes are used to control flow of water, limit the potential damage area that any main break can cause, by allowing for the temporary shut off of water. This allows DWSD to isolate maintenance and repair during emergency situations. This contract will act to serve to replenish stock levels, preventing emergency spot buys and possible work stoppage.
