MOTION

The Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6004065 with EJ USA, Inc (formerly known as East Jordan Iron Works) for various hydrant parts for a not-to-exceed amount of $774,664.15 and duration of three (3) years. The BOWC also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION

DWSD warehouses secure, store and issues various parts and supplies from its inventory to support Field services. This proposed three year contract will allow timely replenishment of fire hydrant parts to ensure DWSD stock levels meet operational needs. The various items include, but are not limited to, assembly bonnets, hydrant caps, hydrant extensions, gaskets, repair kits, nozzles, nipples, nuts, standpipe, stems, valves and pins all of which will be used to repair standard and breakaway fire hydrants. These parts will be maintained as inventory and then issued upon request.
