MOTION

Upon recommendation of Marqaicha Welch, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6004097 for various sizes of brass stop corporations with EJ USA, Inc. (formerly known as East Jordan Iron Works) for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $252,539.28 and a term of one year. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.


BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION

The DWSD warehouses stock brass corporations stops of various sizes. These are necessary when the water pipe cannot be drained to allow for maintenance and/or cleaning. With a corporation stop, the diffuser can be removed while the water pipe remains full and pressurized. This contract will serve to replenish stock levels preventing emergency spot buys and possible work stoppage.
