MOTION
Upon recommendation of Marqaicha Welch, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve Contract 6004599 with Interstate Trucksource, Inc., for one (1) 2024 14-Yard boom/spoil dump truck, for a total amount not-to-exceed $374,833.96. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION
DWSD Fleet Operations has requested the purchase of one new 14-Yard boom/spoil dump truck to replace boom/spoil dump trucks found to be unrepairable due age of the vehicle and the cost of repairs being greater than the value of the boom/spoil dump trucks.
PROCUREMENT METHOD
Requisition #493545 was approved by Budget on 5/20/22. This contract was competitively solicited per RFB #493545 on February 23, 2022 with a closing date of March 31, 2022 (36 Days), through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network. MITN published this opportunity to 180 companies and 16 firms downloaded the bid package. One bid was received from Interstate Truck Source and a “No Bid” was submitted by Cannon Truck stating they were not submitting a bid due to the number of exceptions submitted from their suppliers in regard to the specifications and outfitting with additional equipment.
Based on the information above, it is recommended that the contract be awarded to the sole responsive and responsible bidder, Interstate Trucksource, Inc.
Interstate Trucksource, Inc., clearances expire 9/22/22 and a formal contract document is not required.
