MOTION
Upon recommendation and opinion of Debra N. Pospiech, General Counsel, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department hereby
approves an amendment to Article 9 of its by-laws to establish the Legal and Government Affairs Committee; and authorizes the Board secretary to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote and to notify the public.
BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
The Board desires to have a new committee to oversee the management of legal risk, contractual relationships, litigation, legislative affairs at the local, state and federal level, and other matters handled by the Department’s Office of General Counsel.
BUDGET IMPACT
There is no budget impact to DWSD.
