To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, to protect public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable citizens, it is crucial that all citizens take steps to limit
in-person contact. These critical mitigation measures include social distancing and limiting the number of people interacting at public hearings. On March 18, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order No. 2020-15 allowing remote participation in public meetings and hearings for public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act.
Meetings may be held electronically, including by two-way telephonic conference or video conference in a manner in which both the general public and members of the public body may participate. The public body also may use technology to facilitate typed public comments that may be read to or shared with members of the public body and other participants.
For these reasons, the City of Detroit Board of Water Commissioners will hold its regular meeting on May 20, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. as a telephonic meeting at:
