MOTION
Upon recommendation of Palencia Mobley, Deputy Director/Chief Engineer, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to enter into Contract No. 6002230 for "Water Improvements for Cornerstone Village (WS-712)" with Ric-Man Construction, Inc., at a cost not to exceed $18,630,333.50 for a duration of two (2) years, and also authorizes the Director to take such action necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND
Proposed DWSD Contract No. 6002230 (WS-712) is part of an ongoing distribution piping system water main replacement program and is the result of extensive condition assessment work completed under Contract No. 6000777 (CS-1812). The work consists of either replacing or lining over 46,000 linear feet of existing 6-inch, 8-inch, 12-inch, and 16-inch water mains that have a history of frequent breaks and high maintenance cost.
