Upon recommendation of Marqaicha Welch, Procurement Manager, the Board of Water Commissioners for the City of Detroit, Water and Sewerage Department authorizes the Director to approve DWSD Contract 6004394 for two types of Magnetic Locators with MSC Industrial Supply, for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $141,600 and a term of two (2) years. This also authorizes the Director to take such other action as may be necessary to accomplish the intent of this vote.
BACKGROUND / JUSTIFICATION
The Central Warehouse and West Yard's function is to receive, stock, store and issue materials to various DWSD Departments to support the work of our Field Services, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations. Magnetic Locators find underground objects with ferrous metal content, using the earth's magnetic field. They do not emit a signal, but rather, they measure magnetic field distortion that surrounds a buried metal target.
